How to Design a System That Keeps a Growing Root in the Soil
High residue farming you can't do it without a healthy soil microbial community. So disturbed the soil as little as possible for your climate and soil conditions. Then keep a growing root in the soil year round and create habitat For beneficial insects as close to your crop as possible. And so that is how we did our system with uh strip tilling into the 50 year old pasture and adding living mulch from both sides of the row.
