The Origins of Noir

Paul Schrader says practically every dramatic Hollywood film from 1941 to 1953 had noir elements. Even if it wasn't the full plot, didn't fully fit, there were scenes and sets that were definitely noir influence. PKD was 13 years old at the beginning of that period; they made like one of the top five 10 albums as an 80s band.
