The Great Jubilee of 1534

St. Philip Neary was a knight's general and the son of an uncle who wanted to leave him his business. In 1534, he moves to Rome where he stays with a family for 16 years. He is described as being kind of an urban hermit during that time in his life. The Holy Spirit appeared to him "in the form of a ball of fire that entered into his mouth" His heart would palpitate violently when he was at prayer for the rest of his life.
