The title quintessence of secret mercury comes from a retreat text that I did three years of silent solitary retreat of different types. It's kind of like the rosetta stone for everything else I that came later this is before lightning flash of ollif and all that but all of those symbols are there. The central metaphor of that book is that of animal sacrifice which is a greatly misunderstood topic because all of the Judeo-Christian tradition is based on animal sacrifice.
