The Constructive Theory of Emotion
Most theories are more about feeling emotions rather than primary emotions. The constructive theory of emotion argues that the brain constructs emotional experience the same way that it constructs our other experiences. This appeals to me because it includes the role of prediction, and it's well established that perception is influenced by memory and expectation.
