I was invited to be on the film set in Los Alamos itself. There were a few buildings that date back to the early 40s, including Oppenheimer's own little cottage right there in the middle of Los Alamos near the pond. And they did film in that house, recreated what it looked like inside from old pictures. They filmed in a couple of other older buildings there, but they actually had to construct a whole new site 20 miles down the road near Los Alamos, but in themiddle of the desert. He created a street as it would have looked like in the 1940s. It doesn't at all look like the Los Alamos of the early 1940s
