Google Blocks Staff's Internet Access to Reduce Attacks
Some employees at Google will have internet access from their desktop PCs significantly restricted with only internal web-based tools and Google-owned sites accessible. Staff will not also have root access, preventing them from runningsys admin commands or installing software. According to a report from CNBC, Google originally selected 2,500 employees to participate in the scheme. But after receiving feedback from its workers, it allowed staff to opt out and ask for volunteers to participate instead.
