For some atheists, the aspects of critical theory that draw the most ire for them are the transgender agenda and critical race theory. There's been a move to categorize those as genuine sacrosanct identities which suddenly closes down debate over what that means. The transgender thing is like five or six years old in terms of social media and everything else so I think there's this sense that hang on almost just the speed at which it has happened. It's not that J.K. Rowling objects to transgender people per se, but when the rights of people claiming that identity start to conflict with what she sees as the hard one rights of women and the feminist perspective you get flash points.
