Beggar in the Spirit
In the Greek, it's actually beggar. And so not just because we could just like, okay, I'm poor, I don't have it, but it's a beggar. So to be poor in spirit is actively begging the Lord for that gap that we have identified and we're trying to fill in with something that's just not really satisfying. The Lord knows the desires of our hearts, he knows the things that we truly desire. He desires those things once again, those gaps in which that we just can't fill in.
