The Problem With Metrics in a Large System
The real question is, do you know what 20% or do you have to get out in the field and run it for a while ago? Oh, this is the 20%. That's the problem, Charles. I think metrics, but I think intuitively in a large system, at least in my experience, you know what that core part of functionality is generally. You've got to go out and measure and feel around and hypothesize and build some tests and push a little further.
