The Magic of Art
The instrument of art is rhythm. If you are writing simply to communicate information, your concerns are only the length of your sentences. But if an aesthetic effect is to be achieved, then the rhythm of the prose counts. Poets are also interested in the sounds of the words, which is why you have rhyme and rhythm. That is art. When the artwork is well achieved, when the object is fortunately rendered, it fascinates. One can, however, experience the sublime. What renders the sublime is immense space or immense power. I don't know of any.
