I think most people perform best when they're at their calmest and most relaxed. There are some things you can do for less experienced fighters in terms of building small routines that they go through in the training gym every time they go out to train. I've always found once the referee tells you to go forward and fight all the more esoteric elements of visualization, meditation and all these things tend to go out the window. It's much more about your physical training preparation. That's what's going to give you the ability to proceed in a satisfactory fashion once the action starts.
