The Importance of Short-Term Mission Trips
Poverty is rooted in broken relationships with God, with ourselves, with others, and with creation. A short-term missions trip reinforces the message that you can't do anything without an outside force to fix you. That's going to further mar your identity. It actually does real harm by communicating to the poor: You are broken. You're less than human. You need me the outsider to fix you."
