This article set off some sniping on Twitter among the online right. I think Shiyun overstates his case, and incorrectly blurs the distinction between self-improvement and transcendence. Ren's program has manifold high-impact, real-world benefits for those who choose to follow it. If you're not going to hell, or being thrown into a volcano by Xenu, you're just going to have lower energy and less happiness.
