The Evolution of Industrial Design in the United States
Peter studied industrial design in undergrad and was hired on by IDO in Palo Alto for a number of years. The emphasis at least for companies like that have shifted towards different kinds of strategy design thinking, he says. Peter coming out of his my program for example I mentioned the Nike Nike is hired seven people recently Steelcase has recently hired two people out of my program and so on so but the old days of like large consultancies like the Fitch Fitch consultancies or IDO are still around though more focused on digital traditional industrial design in the United States.
