But it would have to go beyond business as tey, and involve closer cooperation with democratic countries. Gurson also talks about some of the debates roiling the country on free speech, due process, title nine. And we had a really wide ranging discussion about the role that the law can play in society.

Jeannie Suk Gersen is the John H. Watson, Jr. Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and a contributing writer at The New Yorker. She writes widely about the law and its impact on society.
