The Importance of Diversification in the Gulf
Saudi Arabia has been touting their Vision 2030 plan, which is a road map to diversifying and decarbonizing the Saudi economy. But under that plan, they were hoping for 10% of the Saudi economy to be coming from foreign direct investment or FDI. They're currently sending it just 0.57%. Is this a sign that even if Saudi Arabia can't achieve this transition away from being a petro state, there's no hope for countries like Kuwait or Angola who may not have the money or will to do so?
