In 1992, the cause of black people having basic rights was legally legitimate in South Africa. Wooter Bassen led a plan to distribute poison to beer to black people at bus stops. Anyone who voiced displeasure with apartheid was subject to poisoning. The testing process for these poisons was as horrific as you'd imagine.
