The Benefits of Cortex for Metrics Management
Cortex is an open source project which actually started the WeWorks and then after some time was donated to CNCF. The idea of Cortex is not to replace Prometheus but to extend Prometheus. With Cortex, you can distribute the data and the workload across multiple machines. Another reason is that Cortex allows you to overcome the vertical scalability limits of Prometheus.
