Movies Don't Meet the Culture
The culture meets the movies in terms of the things that really stick. A movie is somehow getting at something that then happens to overlap with what's going on culturally in the time it comes out. Arrivals, another one where I remember seeing that movie at an early screening and going like this thing's great. It's going to bomb really hard.
