How to Invest in Companies With Controversy

I am contrarian, but not exclusively contrarian. My favorite types of investments are situations where any educated person can pick up the newspaper and understand why they should not invest in a certain company or industry. I like to find periods of time when there's some controversy that makes them attractive. And so that's an example of you can invest in a good company during a period of controversy, and then reap the benefits as that controversy fades.
