One thing that really struck me about the story, holland holme was shot in the head, and yet he tells you he didn't feel he was injured enough. How common is that experience, or that feeling among survivors? Incredibly common. And i think she is one of those people who was able to speak really well to this notion that she wasn't shot, but she really struggled with the aftermath and the pain.
