The Paradox of Race in Capitalism
The paradox is that at one level, this looks like we're undermining the structural basis of sharp racial divisions. But as I was just sort of implying, you know, we're also generating a very toxic mix and result of more. And then the question is what happens to race as a lived phenomenon. What happens to people's sense of themselves and what group they belong in and so on. So I don't know. It might be possible to have a capitalism that works in a less dichotomous way.
