The book is about a butler called stevens. He talks about what it was like to work for a real english gentleman. Stevens doesn't strike you as a classic, unreliable narrator because he seems to have himself pulled together pretty well. That's part of the also, like the aura of a british butlerlik.

Truly great butlers are work-focused automata, occupied only on maintaining and increasing the reputation of their employer. But what if there were more to life than that? This week, we follow one butler as he comes to exactly that realization.
