The FDA's Discordance With Advisory Committees
Aaron Carroll: Most often the discordance comes when the FDA advisory committee votes against approving a drug and then the FDA approves it nonetheless. He says previous studies looking at prior time periods have also shown a substantial amount of concordance between advisory committee votes and FDA. Carroll: There are a number of interesting areas for further research that I think remain to be examined.
