The Polytheistic Religion in Science Fiction
I usually feel that the polytheisms I see in books are too clean cut. And then, you know, there's the question of what is the extent to which the gods are actively being a presence in daily life versus not. Richard Garfinkle has a novel called Celestial Matters that is hard speculative fiction or hard science fiction. But one of the things he does really well is the way that he incorporates Greek religion. There's not a distinction made between the divine presence and the experience of inspiration on that topic.
