Dying Is About Letting Go

As a doctor, I had the privileged opportunity to talk to many hundreds of families and people who were dying over the course of the years that I was a hospice doctor. People often engage in a kind of life review, so you'll see someone that's seriously ill that will suddenly perk up a week or two before death. So there are all these very moving, very human things that happen near the end of life. And it is a process that you can see unfolding, and is often punctuated by certain other experiences.
