The 13-Line Ground Squirrel

The 13-line ground squirrel lives in the Midwest. They have 13 little stripes on their back, which is how they got that name. You can actually hold them in your hand while they're hibernating and it's kind of creepy. Their heart rate also goes down to three to five beats per minute as they go into a torpor state.
