Argo depicted the CIA's victories while ignoring their failures. The Long Road Home was based on a real account, detailing an incident where Iraqi rebels ambushed US troops just outside of Baghdad. When American soldiers died in the tragedy, it was one of the first events to spark widespread American backlash against the Iraq War.
