The Antarctic Treaty System and Its Related Agreements

Over 50 states from around the world are engaged in it, 30 of them with decision making powers. Scientists have been studying the antarctic ice sheet and how and when it's going to shift into the ocean since the 19 fifties. This holds the potential to increase global sea level rise by five meters which is a society altering amount of sea level rise. But satellite projections, advances in climate modelling and a increasingly robust field sciences have helped glaciologists understand where the icey is starting to thin and spread.
