I'm Not Getting Old, but I Don't Want to Die
In healthism, there's this idea that if you get sick, if your body breaks down, if you show vulnerability, then there is something inherently wrong with you. But the truth is that all bodies get sick at some point. We all have that achilles heel or that weakness in one system or another in our bodies. And it's all different for everybody. I think there's even a step further that you can take where there's an acceptance of, oh, i'm living in this thing that's actually, day by day, getting closer and closer to dying. It has nothing to do with our inherent human mirth.
