The strings are cool because while the guitar parts are playing through the harmony that I just outlined the string line actually emphasizes the important tones in a lot of those changes. You can actually just listen to the bass part and the strings and you'll hear pretty much all of the harmony even without any chords in the middle. This final few chords just knocked me out there's so much going on just in this final like couple of seconds of this song it's pretty incredible. Listen back and just focus on the bass pay attention to how the bass lands on that D and then just slowly walks up a D scale before ending on an E.
