The rates of anxiety and depression in neurodivergent children and adults is much higher than that of neurotypical children and adults. Research actually shows that people who have a more introverted or higher sensitivity nervous system, regardless of whether they're on the autism spectrum or if they've been diagnosed with ADHD. People who have that kind of more inward facing nervous system brain setup tend to experience much higher rates of negative emotion.
