We're Going to Have Sub-Par Teachers

There are very, very few teachers who could make on the open market what they make as teachers. I appreciate teachers and many of them who engage in considerable mysterious and air-fished to teach. There's a lot of benefits. And union bargaining makes it even better. If you want to set up a committee to determine the wages of every occupation, you'll destroy an economy very quickly on that basis.
