Is There Variation in the Orb Webs?

In one species, it's really extensive variation, like maybe 80 % a males do the twists. And they think that some of that variation depends on whether the female seems to be worth investing in. But ye, the case were it's sometimes, as you sometimes they don't, then we can really start probing, ok, what makes you decide to do that or not? And that's really interesting. Has there ever been like, like, how do we know about this evolution? Is it just tere like fossils? Or like, how does our evolutionary history work?
