The Biblical Meaning of Tattoos

In Leviticus 19, 28, it talks about not cutting your body for the dead. And then it goes on to say, and don't mark your skin with tattoos. In those days, there was an ancient cultic practice of marking and cutting your body as part of a death service. The Bible says, don't do that. But if your tattoo doesn't participate in that kind of branding or signify that kind of engagement with the cultic prasics of another God or false religion, then biblically, it's not really an issue.
