We want to move down the spectrum towards unprocessed carbohydrates. The more processed the carbohydrate chances are, the more it is going to impact your blood sugar. Look for things like getting carbs from berries, apples, fruits and starchy vegetables such as potato or sweet potato. For me personally, I feel best about a quarter of a cup in an evening meal or post workout.
