Are We Really Helping Poor People?
In the 60s, there's this concern that are we actually helping poor people? And Reagan is very deliberately saying, you know, social welfare and government funded welfare just shouldn't exist. So what he ends up doing is like to a way lesser degree slashing the budget than he had originally planned. But he redesigns welfare such that it's no longer about funding programs so that so that whoever needs it gets the money.
