The Importance of the Battle of Gettysburg

There were a lot of people who swarmed in, many of them weeping women trying to find their husbands or their brothers. They're in this fairly wealthy town. Nothing had ever happened there before. Suddenly you have the largest battle in the history of the Western Hemisphere and then corpses everywhere. So basically they do dragooned anybody they could find into digging graves,. including Confederate prisoners, but also including a judge.
