Egrigor is an occult term, meaning basically the spirit that kind of like arises and controls a bunch of cultists. It's used by BJ Campbell to talk about this kind of social media phenomenon where people have kind of outsourced their thinking to their social media apps. A lot of people surround themselves with just a further and further in group of people who kind of repeat the same kind of platitudes.
