The Importance of Following the Money

The first business lessons is follow the money and cash flow is king. So then it became corporate finance in the mid 90s as the economy recovered and my career sort of followed that. I ended up then joining a small startup that was backed by 3i and that was a software business on the back of having started a career in accountancy but deciding that really wasn't for me. Tophan did an MBA and that sort of gave my eyes to lots of different types of business and business consultancy and I did some math. That's how it sort of started, we'll talk about what happened later.
