The Brain Is Not Static in Adulthood

norman doige: The brain is not static in adulthood that in fact it's plastic or malleable. neuroplasticity as i define it is that property of the brain that allows it to change its structure and function in response to activity and mental experience. Brain requires activity to maintain itself, more likely to waste away from under use than just a wear out from overuse so it's the machine metaphor  it's gotten to the point where it is concealing more than it's revealing about our brains.
