The symbols of surplus enjoyment, cocacola and macdonald abaks have all fled from russia after the invasion of ukraine. Should we be getting rid of them from america and europe as well? That's a good question. I think that sometimes the multiplicity of choices can mask the real choice. The identification of freedom with choice is a fake. We need something like an efficient state. When it comes to the simultaneous crises of climate change, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, he asserts, only a cooperative global effort will steer us away from catastrophe.
