Three men had severe spinal cord injuries after motor bite crashers. They were all classed before as having complete paralysis. New treatment involves implanting electrodes low down on people's spines. These stimulate the nerves to the legs and back that normally trigger movement patterns like taking steps. One of the patients said, you know, it just made him feel so emotional, that first time he saw his legs moving again.
