There is a very dark history of enslaved people being forced to breast feed babies, isn't there? Yes. This is something that has had long lasting intergenerational impact in North America around black women and breastfeeding. For a long time, I think breastfeeding rates among black communities in the US were lower for a variety of reasons,. That was one of those reasons, kind of intergenerational trauma around that.
