The War of the Worlds
I don't think that many people were actually fooled by war of the worlds. I can't really remember what set me along this path, but it probably was something like being exposed to ghost watch at a young age. There's also something to be said about the novelty of the found footage format at the time. And again, maybe it rotted their brain for becoming paranormal interested weirdos like ourselves.
