Hinduism is extraordinarily complex. It doesn't really have a theology to it, but it's got an extraordinarily complex type of mythology which can take you somewhere. So then when you apply the rigors of theology and accept complexity and ornateness, and the humility of not grasping at all at once, that might appeal to him.
