Incomplete Compensatory Increase in Appetite Could Induce an Energy Deficit

Some people experience what we call a complete compensatory increase in hunger or appetite, such that they're basically nudged toward energy balance. And then there is the potential for overcompensation; perhaps this person increases energy expenditure by 200 calories a day through added exercise. But maybe their appetite response is amplified to an exaggerated extent such that their hunger is nudging them toward eating maybe 300 extra calories per day.
