The idea that Jesus's body was literally or bodily resurrected is a foreign concept to many early Christians. The question is raised whether the earliest, the earliest and most obvious interpretation of what happened to Jesus is essential. A Roman and a Jew talking to one another, each had to admit that the essentials happened; they couldn't deny it.
