The Importance of Having a Thought Experiment

A thought experiment is also, it has assumptions built to it. The assumption is we can abstract reality into a theoretical place. And then when we take the conclusions from that theoretical place and then plug it into reality, we should get the same kind of thing. That's a pretty big assumption. It doesn't necessarily work that way.
